Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of products and services provided by Sentinel Labs ("we," "our," or "us"), including The Sentinel Discord Bot, our web dashboard, and any paid subscriptions or digital products. By using our services or making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Description of Service

Sentinel Labs provides The Sentinel, a Discord utility bot. The core bot and dashboard are free to use. Optional premium upgrades unlock additional features beyond the free tier.

Free features include:

• Moderation tools (ban, kick, mute, warn, purge)
• Auto-moderation (spam detection, content filtering, link blocking)
• Logging systems for messages, members, voice, and moderation actions
• Server analytics, leveling, reaction roles, reminders, and birthdays
• Starboard, Twitch alerts (up to 2 channels), and AI summaries (20 credits/month)
• A web dashboard for configuration and management

Premium features unlock higher limits and advanced capabilities, including unlimited Twitch alerts, 100 summary credits per month, weekly recaps, unlimited blocklisted words with bulk import, 7-day purge history, and custom starboard emojis. See the feature comparison on our website for details. No payment is required to use the free tier.

Premium Purchases and Payments

This section applies when paid premium features or subscriptions become available. Free use of The Sentinel is not subject to payment terms.

Payment Processing

When paid billing is enabled, premium purchases will be processed by an authorized payment provider acting as our merchant of record. By making a purchase, you also agree to that provider's terms and policies. Details will be disclosed at checkout.

Digital Products

Premium upgrades are digital services delivered electronically. Upon successful payment, access to purchased features is provisioned to your Discord account or server as described at the time of purchase. Free-tier access is unaffected.

Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled. See our Cancellation Policy for full details.

Refunds and Disputes

Refund and dispute handling for premium purchases is described in our Refund Policy and Dispute Policy.

User Responsibilities

Appropriate Use

You agree not to:

• Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
• Exploit, hack, or compromise the bot or dashboard
• Use the service for harassment, spam, or malicious activities
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract our source code
• Share or resell access to paid features without authorization

Server Administration

If you are a server administrator, you are responsible for:

• Configuring the bot appropriately for your community
• Ensuring your server complies with Discord's Terms of Service
• Actions taken by moderators using the bot
• Respecting user privacy and data protection requirements

Service Availability

• We strive for high availability but do not guarantee 100% uptime
• Scheduled or emergency maintenance may occur with or without notice
• We may add, modify, or remove features at any time
• We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss beyond our reasonable control

Limitation of Liability

The Sentinel is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sentinel Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Intellectual Property

The Sentinel bot, dashboard, branding, and all related software are owned by Sentinel Labs. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission. Users retain ownership of their own content.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to our services if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Violate Discord's Terms of Service
• Misuse paid features or attempt payment fraud
• Are required to be removed for legal or security reasons

You may stop using our services at any time. Removing the bot from your server immediately deletes all associated server data. Paid subscriptions should be cancelled separately to avoid future charges.

Privacy

Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and retain data.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
